I did everything what was in the tutorial. The one which is in french and englisch. What settings are missing, can you pse. send me?

The funny part is, with this setting, never touched a few days ago, yesterday evening it worked, today in the morning it didn't and now it works.

But I need a 100% solution and setting to work every time.

Nor in front of the PC now, will check back. Need to understand when it does not work. Can you try to do a screenshot of green menu routing table and router Wi-Fi association in both cases (ok and nok)?

Check page 15 of the doc (french part), this is what you need to verify. Pay attention to the address used forthe gateway (192.168.1.254) as the english version has an error (192.168.1.1 is the MMI IP and is incorrect)!

What you see in the grenn menu is an error that occurs, I believe when you execute the command too often and too fast. It should work again if you wait a little, or worst case if you reboot the MMI.

The routing table is displayed in your pictures: img_6325.jpg & img_6326.jpg

The first line under "routing table" should start with 0.0.0.0 (meaning default gateway) and should list the router's IP over WiFi (192.168.1.254).If it's not there it means the MMI did not get a default gateway from the router (through the DHCP options on page 15).

One other possibility for failure is if one of the files was not patched correctly when you installed it. Can you share the log.txt file from the SDcard (it should be in a directory with the date of installation as name)?

The gateway 192.168.1.254 is already there in my router under Interfaces -> wifi -> DHCP, a said that i have done every step carefully like in the tutorial. The error in the english version i saw it when i did the programming of the router. everything is ok.

Maybe is something wrong in this picture?

https://img4.picload.org/image/rdddgrga/img_6327.jpg

So now i deinstalled the patch and installed it again. After that i applied the k900 patch because my MMI Software is K900.

Here is the log file from the first patch (before the K900 patch):

http://pastebin.com/M5FDuEY6

Believe me it confuses me so much because sometime it works and sometime it does not. And the really weird part is that i don't make anything in the settings of the router nor mmi, only driving :-)

I"m sorry but I can only do so much these days. I'm travelling without my car, so I cannot fully compare what you see to what I have and I don't quite remember too.

What if you connect your laptop to the MMI hotspot? What are your IP parameters (IP address, mask and gateway) and your default route? Show "ifconfig" output for your WiFi interface as well as "netstat -nr" (or "route" maybe, I don't usually use OSX)

IF you get an IP of the form 192.168.1.1xy then you were served by the MMI, if from the router, you should get an IP more like 192.168.1.2x...

I don't think the package is the problem if you got it from the link in this frame

All I can say for sure is:

If everything's installed and working properly, the router should be assigning IPs to all clients on the network and the gateway should be the router's WiFi interface

the last green menu screenshot only shows IPs allocated by the MMI, not the router, and previous screenshots showed that there was no default gateway assigned to the MMI

You could set the default gateway in the MMI manually and it would probably fix you problem for the MMI itself, but clients connected to the MMI hotspot would not work.

Last thing: installing FW while the patch is installed is 100% to break the patch! You would need to restore at least the pf.conf and nws.cfg from the patch to your MMI.

I think we got the solution. How do I set the Gateway in the MMI manually? Because I don't need the hotspot of the MMI because I have a stick "Huawei E8372" with built in Hotspot so the intern WIFI of the MMI i don't need.

No, the FW was installed weeks ago. :-)

I tried connecting first the router (without the stick in the router) and I got "default -> 192.168.1.254". And then I inserted the stick into the router. I will try this procedure tomorrow again and then I can tell you if it worked. So if it works tomorrow the I assume that the problem is maybe in the power consumption of the stick (Y-Cable?). So we will see.

But pse. tell my how i manually set the gateway in the MMI. Thanks

If you have not been careful with power budget you _will_ experience problems with the router when you plug in a power hungry 4G modem!

Not all modems are equal in this respect but I would look there first, because if this is your problem, then setting the gateway manually in the MMI will not solve it

Lien vers le commentaire
Partager sur d’autres sites

Tested now again without the 4G modem connected to the router and now it is not working. So I assume it i a Router (bricked or faulty?) or a MMI Problem. So would be nice if you could tell me how i set the gateway manually in the MMI and I think that will solve everything. :-)

Sorry but I disagree. If you haven't organize anything to insure enough power is available for the router and the modem you cannot draw any conclusion from the limited testing you have performed.

What you will get is not much different from what you have now: a system that sometimes work and sometimes doesn't.

For all we know you have just enough power to run the modem sometimes, depending on coverage and depending on conditions... This is typical.

We dont even how you run things in your car. How good your poWer is or event which router you havé chosen...

Get proper power, test again and then if it still fails we will see what can be done. That, and I'm in no position to provide what you need at the moment. I need time to think. I need my laptop. And I have neither...

Hey guys,

I've an A5 (2012 model) with an MMI 3GP and P900 loaded. Trying to get that work, I got an MR3020, loaded the proper dd-wrt fw on it. I got a 3G stick (which is working fine).

Following the guide to do the config, I can't get it work, it seems like the router gets disconnected from the audi wifi interface and doesn't reconnect automatically.

List of questions I had :

- Is there a way to get root access to the MMI ?

- Can you confirm the MR-3020 needs to connect as "client" to the Audi hotspot ?

- Been playing with routes and debug scripts for a while but the MMI never seem to ping my router ...

I notices the uap0 interface had an alias configured, not sure where that's coming from ?

20161003_123330 - step 11 ifconfig uap0

uap0: flags=8843<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> mtu 1500

inet alias 0.0.0.0 netmask 0xff000000 broadcast 255.255.255.255

link 00:00:00:00:00:00

- Both resolv.conf and routes seem to be fine ?

20161003_123330 - step 11.e resolv.conf

nameserver 8.8.8.8

nameserver 8.8.4.4

20161003_123330 - step 12 route show

What I noticed as well, in the green menu, is that the MMI never had an IP address assigned ... I can see the dns set properly but that's almost it.

and ... I can't ping the Audi wifi (192.168.1.1) whenever the router is connected to it ...

...

Any tricks ?

Where to begin...

- dd-wrt: we do not use dd-wrt, I will assume this is a lapsus calami and you meant ROOter (based on openWrt). In any case, even if that does not explain or solve your problems, if you used the version linked in the doc, then you really should do what I've been advising through the thread for at least 4 months and upgrade from MW (MultiWeb) to the latest version GO (Golden Orb) from http://ofmodemsandmen.com/downloads.html

- There is a way to gain telnet access to the MMI if you really need to, but you could really mess your MMI if you don't know what you're doing, and since you have issues with your WiFi you'd have to use a USB/Ethernet adapter and the AMI/USB Adapter

- your second green menu screenshot is indeed troubling. The MMI should have the 192.168.1.1 IP address by default. It is hardcoded and I have a hard time understand how this came to pass... That in itself is your worst problem, and I cannot really help you there.

- The MMI hotspot is only that, a hostpot with no client capabilities, so the only way to get a WiFi connection to the router is to connect the router in Client mode. And because we want the default route to be assigned properly to the router (192.168.1.254), the router is configured to serve IP addresses through DHCP on the WiFi interface (even though it is connected in client mode) and there is a script running in the background on the MMI to kill its DHCP server and insure there is only one on the network. These two points are paramount to the patch!

- Of course if the MMI does not have an IP address there is no way you'll be able to ping it. :(

- your routing table is not fine There is no default gateway defined.

- When all goes well, if I recall correctly the MMI has two IP addresses: 192.168.1.1, static, and a second one assigned by the router and corresponding to the uap0 alias you mentioned (something like 192.168.1.20, NOT 192.168.1.110 or 192.168.1.109...)

Can you retrace exactly what you have been doing? How could your MMI lose it's IP Address?

Before you try and go the telnet route, you can like I did initially work from a simple script like the one to change DNS that is available from differente sources to issue commands from an SDcard, redirecting command output to a file then checking the results.

Here is an example of such a script with some commands you can uncomment and run to check system status...

Good luck

François

#!/bin/ksh

# get SDcard ID

sdcard=`ls /mnt|grep sdcard.*t`

# get SDcard location

SDPath=/mnt/$sdcard

# mount SDcard

mount -u $SDPath

# display scriptStart image on screen

$SDPath/utils/showScreen $SDPath/screens/scriptStart.png

# delete .done file on SDcard

rm -f $SDPath/.done

# create .started file in SDcard

echo started > $SDPath/.started

# mount EFS fie system

mount -uw /mnt/efs-system

# my commands

netstat -r > $SDPath/.result

route -f

ls -l /mnt/efs-system/etc >> $SDPath/.result

ping -c 5 8.8.8.8 >> $SDPath/.result

ifconfig >> $SDPath/.result

# display scriptDone image on screen

# create .done file on SDcard

Hi François - so to answer your questions :

- Yes, I meant the ROOter fw, I haven't updated it to the latest "GO" version so I'll do so.

- In regards to my MMI not having its default IP set properly ... I haven't touched anything to be honest apart following the doc. I've used the "MMI-3GP-GE-WIFI.zip" package and that's it. Don't you know where are all the infos stored about the default IP of the MMI interface ?

My /etc/networks file does only contain a loopback interface which seems to be "corrupted", shouldn't it point to "127.0.0.0" ?! :

Ok. First I must have jumped to conclusion reading your earlier comment and your MMI does have the expected IP 192.168.1.1. And indeed you can ping it from the router so your WiFi link is up. That is good.

From your routing table it appears default route is not set up. This should come from the router DHCP server configuration on the wireless interface. Can you cross check that?

Can you check for /etc/dhcp/pf.conf and /etc/dhcp/nws.cdg fîles (presence and content) please?

Hi - What I didn't get is the alias on uap0 that should gets an IP from my mr3020.

I've not been through everything yet but it seems like the mme-becker.sh script should issue a dhcp request for this alias isn't it ? In that case this might be my problem. Connecting a client to my Audi hotspot works, it gets an IP from my mr3020 as it is supposed to.

In addition, from time to time when connecting a client to my Audi's hotspot, it gets an IP from the dhcp server running on the MMI. I've changed the mr3020 config to force it to be seen as "primary" dhcp server but no results.

Both my /etc/dhcp/pf.conf and /etc/dhcp/nws.cdg fîles are the ones installed by default :

Just re-flashed it to rewrite the entire fs and make it work again.

About the FS being corrupted on MR3020, I really don't know as I don't own one. But this is flash memory so if you do many read/write cycles, it will slowly get works. If you router is iffy, of course it's not going to help. Can't you replace it with something news (like the smaller wr703n, or better the 8G Nexx wt3020 as these are dirt cheap)?

If other devices get IP from the router that's a good point as it shows the router DHCP configuration is OK. On the MMI side, the mme-becker.sh script is layer over mme-becker (that's part of the MMI software) that makes runs the dhcp client on the MMI to assign the uap0 alias an IP Address.

I don't remember if the MMI dhcp server is deactivated somehow, will need to look a bit more if I can retrieve that information...

Hi - I spent some time on it yesterday and got it working. My main issue was the pf.conf file that I hadn't updated with uap0 interface :-).

Still a couple of things :

While both Audi Connect and Google Earth works, I can't access online traffic as it states my license isn't valid. As far as I understood, it should be valid for 3 years ? My car is from January 2016 (brand new) so I don't quite get it.

Is there anything specific to do to make it work ?

the sqlite looks like :

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

<tables xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation="sqlite.xsd" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">

<tb_integer>

<int_row status="invalid">

<key>45056</key>

<value>1</value>

<namespace>4</namespace>

</int_row>

<int_row status="invalid">

<key>40960</key>

<value>32783</value>

<namespace>4</namespace>

</int_row>

<int_row status="invalid">

<key>4100</key>

<value>1</value>

<namespace>4</namespace>

</int_row>

</tb_integer>

</tables>

Thks for the tips !

Ah! So now your firewall is not blocking anymore. That will help for sure...

About Traffic online I'm afraid Audi patched the hole in newer car and you cannot get it if the VIN does not correspond to a car with cellular data option! :(

Until someone finds a workaround there's not much we can do...

EFS=1444

The Main unit software (NAR) first has to be updated to the latest release - task aborted.

if [ "$XX" == EUROPE ]

then

if [[ $EFS -lt 1790 ]]

then

echo -ne $(getTime) " - The Main unit software (NAR) first has to be updated to the latest release - task aborted.\r\n" >> $1/install.log

Hi d1ufo.

What do you mean with K900 patch?

As far as I know there is one script to config the MMI. Is there a second specific script for K900?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, but that assumes you have kept the SDcard used to apply the change without removing any files. Then you just rename run.sh to something else and put uninstall.sh instead of run.sh (renaming it to run.sh).

No, i have not saved the files and i seems that i have lost the sd card. is there any other way?

There is bit it is not as straightforward and I don't have the time to check suitable scripts at the moment.

How familiar are you with running scripts off the SD card, Linux in general and more generally shell scripts?

Never worked with Linux earlie so complete noob. So if use files from MMI-3GP-GE-WIFI-uninstall it won't work because I need files that were created during the installation?

  • 2 semaines plus tard...

Hello everybody, I'm new to this forum.

I drive an Audi A6 4F2 2009 with a retrofitted MMI 3GP with SIM slot (Part No SW: 4H0 035 654 HW: 4H0 035 670 C).

Because my car does not have a factory issued MMI 3GP I got black listed with the Audi servers and TMC online does not work anymore (as it is the case with all other Audi A6 4F drivers).

Even if you want to pay Audi the fee it is not possible to receive the service which leaves me angry.

To make it work I understood I need to make the following modifications (post #387)

correct values in tb_stringvalues DataPST.db file

pst_is pst_namespace pst_key pst_value
6 676990753 72057594037862401 11111111111111111111111111111111 * Audi * DE
7 676990753 72057594037862402 11111111111111111111111111111111

72057594037862401 72057594037862402 values and need to be taken from those who DataPST.db tmc online works.

72057594037862401 is your VIN coded to some hash or whatever
72057594037862402 is information about the Connection Last Session just 32 characters

Is there a script that will backup my current DataPST.db file and another script that will write the two values mentioned above?

Does anybody know how the VIN is coded to that value?

My idea was to get valid values from a show room car if you just inserted the script to retrieve the data.

Is there some documentation what MMI-3GP-Diag-v2.01.zip does exactly?

Merci NOY.

Here is a picture of traffic online when it still worked.

As far as I know there is no indication that this will work. I have tried on my MMI 3GP (2012 A6 4G) with no success. I had it working for about a year and a half until the license expired...

I am not aware that anybody else tried, really but you are welcome to try it for yourself and share your result, though.
