Some problem happened in my car!

Hello. My car is BMW X3 2006 and it has the check light on, I have had unplugged the battery and it comes OFF for about 2 days, but again it comes on. I'd like to know what OBDII scanner or code reader is compatible with my van and will give me the information. I'm a rookie in mechanic but i like it. elm327 what about it? Is it useful fo my car? Thanks!

I think it will be difficult for you to get an answer for troubleshooting your BMW and to give you some advice.

Please, try on a BMW forum. The choice of an OBD scanner is linked with the diagnostic protocol wich is the langage used by the car computers (ie : KWP2000 or K 2089 (CAN BUS) for ECU).
